How it works

A clear path to the day.

Start with a conversation.

We discuss your child, their experience, and your ceremony’s expectations.

Build skills and understanding.

Regular lessons combine practical preparation, meaningful study and guided practice.

Bring it all together.

We refine the speech, rehearse the agreed service elements, and prepare for the milestone.

A few common questions.

Will you work with our synagogue/rabbi to coordinate for the big day?

Of course! It is of utmost importance that I work closely with you and your rabbi to ensure that everyone is aligned on goals for the big day!

What level of Jewish education or Hebrew language does my child need to have?

I love working with students of all ability levels! We’ll start with an initial conversation to determine your child’s current level of Hebrew and discuss a unique plan that ensures your child’s success for their big day.

Do you work with families outside Maryland?

All the time! I’ve successfully done remote tutoring for many students over the years, most of whom have actually wanted to continue weekly learning with me beyond their b’nai mitzvah prep.

Is this the right fit for our family’s tradition?

Here’s the coolest part–having taught at a pluralistic day school for as long as I did, I’m excited about learning with students of all Jewish backgrounds. Regardless of your family’s personal observance level or experience with Jewish learning, I’m here to make everyone feel comfortable and find value in our time learning together.
